Past Financial Secretary and Past President of PACE Local 2-0425 before becoming International Representative.

Registered Nurse at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC since 1984. Worked in healthcare since 1970. Currently President of AFGE Local 1738 and national AFGE V.A. Council Vice President since 1995.

Have served on the NC AFL-CIO Executive Board from 1993-present. Secretary-Treasurer of the Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics of North Carolina (State affiliate of the IAFF) from 1991-present. Served as a District Vice President of PFFPNC from 1989-1991. President of IAFF Local 947 Greensboro from 1995-present. Vice President of IAFF Local 947 Greensboro from 1988-1993. AAS in Fire Science Technology from Guilford Technical Community College. Registered Lobbyist for the PFFPNC lobbying on issues for fire fighters and paramedics as well as other labor related issues from 1991-present. Delegate to 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, MA.

President of Lorillard Tobacco workers union, BCTGM Local 317-T for four terms. Formerly a shop steward and negotiations committee member. Also serves on general executive board of the International BCTGM.

Business Manager of IUOE Local 465 in Durham. Member of Boilermakers Local 30 from 1980 to 1984. Joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 465 in 1984. Brought on staff with IUOE 465 in 1988 and promoted to current position in 1991.

President of the NC State Association of Letter Carriers since 2007.

Member and steward of APWU since 1982. President of Fayetteville area local union 984 since 1985. Executive VP of APWU NC Council from 1990 to 1997 and 2006 to present as well as President from 1997 to 2002. National Arbitration Advocate for his union since 1988 as well as chairman of National President’s Conference. Also certified as Mediation Counselor for NC Superior Court. Currently serves as President of the Greater Sandhills Central Labor Council.

President of American Federation of Teachers / North Carolina since 1997. President of Chapel Hill-Carrboro Federation of Teachers since 1994. Graduate of Bennett College and has master's in Library Science from UNC-CH. Affiliations include: A. Philip Randolph Institute, the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards Commission, Governor Easely's Teacher Advisory Committee, and Coalition of Labor Union Women.

Joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1986, completed the apprentice program in 1990. Started teaching the fifth year of the IBEW apprentice program in 2001, and in 2004 graduated from NTI (National Training Institute). Presently on IBEW 379's building and grounds committee, political action committee, and as the union's webmaster.

First became union activist in her early 20s in New York City as a telephone operator for NY Telephone. In those days there were "women's jobs" and "men's jobs". The women had two Company Unions and the men were in CWA. Involved in an organizing campaign to get the women into CWA; it took 3 tries before CWA won. Later worked for New York City and was a member and shop steward for AFSCME. Moved to Asheville in the early 1980s and became a part-time organizer for AFSCME in the 1990s trying to organize Asheville City Workers. Served as Recording Secretary and then President of the Western NC CLC. Currently a member of IUE-CWA Local 188. A long-time member of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, the National Organization of Women and NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Belonged to the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union, BCTGM, and finally, AFGWU (now USW) since 1974. Served a shop steward, Treasurer, and Vice-President of USW 1028 before retiring in 2001. Also President of the Triangle At-Large Labor Union Retiree Club. Served as President of the North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute from 1992 to 2003 and President of the Raleigh APRI Chapter from 1990 to 2004.

Began career as flight attendant in 1976 with Piedmont Airlines and continued after the merger with US Airways. Member of System Board of Adjustment for a majority of last twenty years. Currently Vice President of Association of Flight Attendants Council 89.

Local Union Vice President at USW 850, Continental Tire for four terms. Served as Local Union President for two terms. In 2001, received Martin Luther King Award, Charlotte, NC. United Steelworkers International staff representative for three years and has served on USW International Civil Rights Committee for five years. Brother Murray has served on our board as a Vice President of the NC AFL-CIO for three years.

Business Agent and Political Liaison for Unite Here. Member of the North Carolina AFL-CIO Executive Board since 1991. She held the position chair of the Organizing Committee and is currently serving on the finance committee. Member of the North Carolina State A. Philip Randolph Institute, a member of Coalition of Labor Union Women, a community activist, member of the Board of Directors of North Carolina Community Development Council - representing Labor - appointed by Governor Easley, and a member of North Carolina Democratic Executive Committee.

A Teamster for 38 years. Eastern Region VP of the IBT. Director of Brewery and Soft Drink Trade Conference, which covers 80,000 members across North America. Joint Council President for NC & SC IBT local unions. Has served 12 years as a Commissioner on Employment Security Commission, appointed by governor. Currently in 10th year as President of IBT local union 391.

Lewis has been a union member since 1997. Currently President of UNITE HERE local 294-T and past Vice President of 294-T. Also serves as local mill Vice-Chair. A graduate of the UNITE-HERE C.O.P.E. school and a volunteer political organizer. Enjoys watching sports and collecting sports cards and memorabilia.
